The Teal Stars flimsy is finished, I'm pleased with the way she turned out.
She has been delivered to Calico Point for machine quilting. She should return home sometime in April.
I didn't have a pattern for Teal Stars, the design was created as I sewed.
As of now, the flimsy is 98" square but she will shrink during quilting.
It doesn't show in the photo but the background fabric has a light aqua design in the fabric.
The leftover fabrics will be used in the next quilt for Joanna. The prep starts today for that quilt and there will be something to show you next week.
This flimsy was #6 on my list of quilts to piece in 2025 called Stars & Log Cabin.
This is the pile of 4 patches that were sewn while piecing Teal Stars. They sewn as Leader/Enders.
I must have put some in the box before I took this picture. They made with 2" squares and will finish at 3".

Your teal stars are glorious! I am astounded it is 98" square, so those stars are really big. I'm looking forward to the April reveal.
The teal stars quilt is gorgeous! Great job on a challenging design.
Dear Gretchen, Those teal stars look amazing. It is funny how we all start projects far apart in the same colour scheme without knowing that we do. The appliqué blocks are growing and I love the combination of textures and prints.
Love your teal stars and so will your granddaughter. You made clever use of the left over strip set. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Your Teal Stars turned out beautifully, Gretchen! You are so skilled both technically with your precision piecing as well as with your fabric choices. Can’t wait to see this one quilted!
It turned out beautifully!
Gorgeous finish! xx
Beautiful, Gretchen! Quite large, too. I hadn't realized it was that big.
Oh So Gorgeous!!!! Can't wait to see the quilting too. Ijust love all those colors and together - wow!!!
What a great way to use up those "leftovers" from the cutting. I've made a couple of Irish chain quilts, and from the Leftovers have pieced a lap quilt and a wall quilt in the same pattern from them.
Teal Stars is magnificent, Gretchen. Such a lovely collection of teals to work with too. You have a great start for a new quilt with the four patches. I am looking forward to seeing them in a future project. Have a great day. Hugs.
Beautiful stars! Teal is such a gorgeous colour.
What a gorgeous flimsy! The border accents those stars perfectly!
Your stars are beautiful, and I love how you displayed the little squares all around. It's such a beautiful border. Thank you for sharing this beauty!
This quilt is gorgeous. I love the fabric colors. I was surprised by the size. Those are big stars. I love the pieced border. I think it is perfect despite not being the original plan. A great way to use the extra strip sets. I have found a few patterns that have you make more than you need and I don't like the waste of fabric.
Beautifully done!
