Elegant Garden, Block 21

Block 21 was an easier block to applique, fast too!

Usually it is the circles that liven up the block, in this case it was when I added the green leaves. Fussy-cutting the flowers added added extra zing also. I think this background fabric is my favorite one of them all.

The Elegant Garden quilt was designed by Edyta Sitar in 2007.

I have challenged myself to use only the civil war fabrics I already have on hand.

Last week a commenter asked if I'd show more of actual process of applique. I have another project I'll work on after Elegant Garden is finished. I'll show more detail with those blocks.

I don't think I would ever have thought to use that fabric as a background fabric, but it works. What a beautiful block.
