I'm enjoying appliqueing the Elegant Garden blocks. Block 17 was completed last week.
I did change the size of the orange/yellow circles, they were so tiny! These circles are the size of a dime, much easier for me to applique.
Elegant Garden is designed by Edyta Sitar. These blocks will finish at 9".
And a side view. It's approximately 73" across the applique borders. She had hoped to be farther along by now but she had that nasty deep chest cough that has been going around. Fortunately she didn't have the sore throat that a lot of people got.
Elaine stopped in one day to show me her progress with Rhapsody in Blue, the quilt we're collaborating together for the 2027 Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale.

The plan is to have the top completed and ready to be put into the hand quilting frame this fall. That's the plan anyway, but we all know how plans go awry.
I will not be having a Wednesday post this week, the Jane Stickle retreat starts Wednesday and I'll be there stitching away!

Another beautiful block! Those cheddar circles really pop. The blue and white quilt is gorgeous. What a great collaboration. Gail at the cozy quilter
Beautiful work on Rhapsody in Blue! I just love all of your blue quilts--even though I know that this one won't get to stay at home. It's a great cause. Love the cheddar circles. Good choice to make them a bit larger.
Your applique work is so beautiful. How fun it must be to work on the same pattern with your friend. Your quilts are going to be stunning.
Your applique work is so beautiful, especially the yellow circles. Rhapsody in Blue is amazingly lovely. Such talent! I hope Elaine is feeling better!
Rhapsody in Blue is stunning already! Those dime size circles look wonderful in the appliqué block and look the perfect size with the remaining design bits.
Your appliqued block is so pretty. I love the Blue quilt. So sorry that Elaine was ill.
Beautiful applique block. Love the Rhapsody in Blue! I envy you the Jane Stickle retreat, though I finished my Dear Jane quilt years ago.

You've been making good progress on your Elegant Garden blocks the last few months. The blue quilt is just gorgeous, hopefully it makes it to the frame this fall. Enjoy your retreat!
That blue and white quilts is just amazing. Gorgeous!!
I have really enjoyed seeing your "Elegant Garden" blocks and now I see why: Edyta's designs have been a real draw for me ever since the pandemic so it's no wonder this appealed! And oh my word, "Rhapsody" is so beautiful!! I've also picked up a fondness for blue and white quilts over the last few years and this is a stunner. Hadn't thought about making an applique one but now you've got me doing just that, LOL!
I hope to view your blue and white applique sometime, happy stitching!
