Block 16 of Elegant Garden is finished.
I do wish I had used the brighter orange/gold fabric for the center circle and little circles but I'm not going to change it.

I like the pop of colour that the pink adds to your block! The background fabric is pretty too. How many blocks are in this quilt? Gail at the cozy quilter
There are a total of 24 appliqued blocks in the quilt. The center block is pieced then there are pieced blocks all around the outside of the appliqued blocks. I still have a way to go!
I am really enjoying your Elegant Garden blocks. Are you about halfway there?
You do need some blocks to be more subdued to mix in with the brighter ones, it adds depth to the whole quilt. It's definitely not a due block.
I am loving these blocks, you are such a master of appliqué.
Gorgeous block!
Every week is a fun, new block. I always love your stitching and especially your background fabrics. Way to use up those scraps. You are not only a master of stitching, you are great at picking out just the right scrap for the project.
Goodness there is such a variety of blocks in this project! I like the orange you chose. . .it is a calm and sedate block. You do such beautiful appliqué!
This is such a pretty block, Gretchen. The fabrics are scrumptious. Have a very lovely day.
You do have a great eye for choosing fabrics!
It's gorgeous, Gretchen!
It's a beautiful block!
Sometimes... finished is better than perfect ;) We can't always nail it, but we CAN learn from our mistakes. Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell
Another beautiful appliquéd block! I love the background fabric, it looks like small ants! It's a very elegant garden indeed. Thank you for sharing and linking up.
The sad thing is that you often only realize in retrospect that you could have done better... what does that tell us? We shouldn't strive for super perfection.
I like your applications. So wonderful.
I still have to work on them.
Best wishes to you.
