9 Patch Crib Quilts

The 9 patch and turquoise quilt didn't use nearly as many 9 patches as I thought it would so I decided to make some simple crib quilts.

I dug through the solids box and pulled fabrics for squares and borders. I'm sorry the pictures are blurry but it was really windy when I took the photos!

The flimsies measure 40.5" by 46".

Congratulations; such a nice way to arrange 9-patches! Did you get them finished all in one week? This would have taken me months!

The 9 patches were already pieced. I pulled fabrics from the solids box and cut them into the pieces I needed then sewed away! It took me a little more than a week to piece them all. I had thought about putting some of the blocks on point but then decided to just keep it simple. Thanks for commenting!

What a great way to use all of those 9 patches!! and we will call that the colorwash effect instead of blurry haha!

I'm visiting via Wendy's Peacock Party - kia ora from New Zealand!! I love your quilts - what a super way to use up leftover blocks; the idea to pull those solids and use them is great. I love the yellows and the lavender. Great work!

So many lovely nine patch baby quilts, well done. Have you used them all up yet or do you still have some lurking about, I wonder?

There are still extra 9 patches here but they'll be used in a larger 9 patch quilt. I have 2 other planned 9 patch quilts planned and I'm sure I have more 9 patches than I'll need. The cycle seems to never end!

That basket of 9 patches has decreased but it wasn't emptied!

These quilts have been donated to a day care so they'll undergo a lot of washings. There is no sense putting a lot of work into something that is going to be used constantly.

All five are fantastic!! Inquiring minds want to know, Gretchen... Did they use up the rest of your 9-Patch blocks??

They're not gone yet, I have more 9 patch quilts planned in the future.

I couldn't possibly pick a favorite from all these quilts! Each one is so pretty with the 9-patch blocks. Your choice of borders and background fabric gives each one that special touch!
