The first two applique blocks in Section 6 of the Stonefields quilt are called Baby Audrey. I don't know why Susan Smith named these blocks or any of the blocks their name.
Of course I made a few changes, the top circles was supposed to be smaller but I don't like to applique really small circles. And the tips of the leaves were supposed to under the stem, I like them better on the sides. The dark blue stems are bias vine leftover from the Blueberry Pie flimsy. Probably the next several blue applique quilts will have vine/stems from the Blueberry Pie quilt. These are blocks 62 & 63.
I'm going to remember this block and perhaps make a second one as a substitute for a block I don't like in the future.
I was in Wakarusa last week so I took a picture of the quilt garden to show you.

All your blocks turned out beautifully. It's always fun to make a quilt your own by making those changes that work for you.
I love those blocks. It would have been interesting for Susan Smith to share her reasons for the names, right? :)
Such pretty blocks!
Your blocks are very pretty.
Some more pretty blue blocks. I too, prefer the ends of leaves to be at the side of stems. The quilt garden's nativity scene is lovely.
I like that you make each of your Stonefield blocks your own! I also appreciate seeing the quilted garden. . not matter the time of year!
More great blocks Greatchen and nice to see the patchwork garden with a winter use! xx
Your progress is so steady! Lovely work. Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.
All of these blocks have been fun to see. That was kind of an odd name for that one block.
Love to see all the beautiful blue blocks you applique. Such special little details in the fussy cutting of the fabric. Always good to see the nativity during Christmas season. Somehow, I don't think Mary would have enjoyed our winter weather.
I know why she named that block "Baby Audrey!" On the "Welcome to Month 7" page in my pattern, she writes that a friend was expecting a baby girl while she was working on Stonefields and the baby's name was supposed to be Lucille, so there is a Lucille block in the quilt that was meant to be named for this baby -- but then when the baby was born, the parents changed their mind at the last minute and named her Audrey so she named a different block in the quilt Audrey for this baby.
