Block 69 is called The Owl & the Pussycat. This block has a lot of embroidery which was fun to do. Only one block was designated for the quilt. This is a cute block but it has a lot of detail, one was enough!
Blocks 70, 71, 72 & 73 are named Butterfly. I liked this design, the blocks were easy to applique so I went ahead and made four of them like the pattern says.
Stonefields is designed by Susan Smith.

The Owl & Pussy Cat block are a surprise in the quilt. The butterfly blocks are adorable. Well done, Gretchen. Happy stitching.
such a gorgeous collection of blocks for this quilt. I love the owl and pussy cat block!
You must get a great deal of satisfaction viewing the blocks all together like that - so beautiful. You'll have to use a wide-angle lens to get it all!
The owl and pussy cat block is precious! I can see why that cat tail could cause concern in an appliqué.
Love this!
Happy New Year!

These blocks are so much fun. If I cannot stop smiling just looking at them, I am sure they brought you a ton of joy. Excellent choice for a year that was 2025.
Such fun blocks. The Owl and Pussycat is really cute. It has been fun to see which blocks you add each week.
Absolutely gorgeous!
I'm so enjoying seeing each of these blocks up close and admiring your touch of perfection in each and every one!
Gretchen I just went back on your blog to read more about your Baltimore Applique and embroidered blocks quilt. I was interested in reading about your applique in particular. You gave good tips regarding freezer paper. And what a beauty that quilt turned out to be! Always inspiring!
