9 Patches in Orange

I've been reducing my 2.5" box and the 2.5" squares box. There are still strips and squares but not enough for larger projects.

In her July 17 post, Cathy told us how she had used the last of her 2.5" strips and squares and made 9 patches. She also gave us some ideas of how to use the 9 patches.

I've take some of my strips and squares and made 9 patches. Since the September RSC color is orange this month, I sewed orange squares and made this little crib quilt. It finishes at  43" by 50".  

This simple quilt is a straight set. It will join several other crib quilts I've made this summer and will be quilted this winter.

As I've said before, orange isn't my favorite color but this bright crib quilt is going to definitely stimulate a baby's sensory development!

I'll be making more 9 patches in a variety of colors, you'll see another crib quilt sometime. I think the next crib quilt will be set on point just to be different!

My goal has been to reduce the amount of strips and squares, not to completely empty the box and it's happening!
