2025 Designer Mystery Quilt

Block 2 of the 2025 Designer Mystery quilt has been pieced. The directions are well written and it's fun using colors that aren't normally used in my sewing room.

The finishing kit was included in the July delivery. I'll start piecing the finishing bits & bobs in autumn, there is too much happening in the summer for extra sewing.

I'm not a patient person and I confess that waiting for the shipment every month is challenging for me. This is why I don't normally participate in BOM's.

Great block! I'm with you, no patience for BOM's, but I try from time to time.

It's very pretty, Gretchen. I too have a problem with waiting for the next BOM to happen. You got this.

I've done one of the type of BOMs where you get the kit each month. It's not my favorite way of making a BOM.

It is a beautiful block! What I am wondering about this project is how much fabric the store sends and do they send strips or chunks or precut squares?? Do they send enough for mistakes or is it in your hands to double check before cutting?? I've never participated in a BOM, but the one time that I bought a BOM kit, there wasn't enough fabric to finish some of the blocks and of course I didn't make the quilt right away.

The fabrics are in yardage pieces, some larger, some smaller depending on how much you'll need. I dont' know if there is enough leftover fabrics to make a complete 2nd block, but there is enough to redo some miscuts.
