Twinkle

Calico Point called me, Twinkle is quilted!

For the quilting, I selected a Baptist Fan design. Baptist Fan is always a good simple design and shows nicely on the white backing fabric.

The binding is this light green stripe.  In the other pictures the small flower print shows as yellowish fabric. This bottom picture is the true color of that fabric.

Twinkle now measures 91" by 92" so it did shrink some during the quilting process. The fabrics are from the Summer House line. I bought the fabrics during my birthday shopping outing in 2024.

I know you guys are all probably in shock that I actually made a quilt without any blue in it, surprise!

I posted about the flimsy in this post dated November 2024.

Twinkle will be gifted to one of the grandchildren.

It's beautiful Gretchen! I love your binding, really looks like the perfect choice. What is the white backing that you use? Do you purchase wide backing?

Yes, a wide backing has been used. I really prefer wide backings. I purchase the fabric at Calico Point, their backing fabric is reasonably priced. I don't like to order backing fabric online, it always costs more, it's too heavily starched and you also have to pay for shipping.

Lovely quilt! What a happy day when the longarmer calls to say your quilt is done. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Your Twinkle is beautiful... and I'm telling you, I love the red tones too... it's harmonious all around.
Red definitely has its place, doesn't it? I bought a red car last week – I had the choice between red and blue :-)) And I chose red :-))
Your grandchild will be thrilled, I'm sure of it.
And of course, your blue quilts are a feast for the eyes.
Best wishes and thanks for sharing.
I wish you a wonderful end to the week.
Best wishes, Viola
p.s. the quilt pattern is great.

Ooh, I love a Baptist Fan design on a traditional quilt! This turned out beautifully for you, Gretchen. It will be treasured for sure -- and look at you, crossing things off your Christmas gift list already when it's not even Halloween yet!

I do love this quilt (even though I'm a blue person, too). The Baptist Fan is a lovely design and creates great texture on it. One of the grandchildren is very lucky to be the recipient. - Jeanne
