Obviously the patterns calls for 3/8" hexies but I don't have that size on hand, however, I do have 1/2" hexies so that is what I used and they fit perfectly.
Blocks 16 & 17 are named Square Peg in a Round Hole.
Block 18 is named Star in a Star
A perfectionist would redo the center circle because the flower design is not centered perfectly, I don't claim to be a perfectionist.
There are a lot of layers in this block. I have tentatively thought I might possibly hand quilt this quilt so I've cut away some of the layers on the backside as I appliqued the layers for ease in hand quilting.

Beautiful fabrics and appliqué. You have an extensive blue stash! Gail at the cozy quilter
I do like mixing quilting with some EPP and hand sewing. Love your fabrics too.
Such lovely background fabrics you are using in these blocks. They really make those pretty blues pop.
All of the blocks are lovely in your blue scraps. I really like those square peg in a round hole blocks. Good thinking to cut away the excess in prep for hand quilting.
I love those little blocks! The star in a star is amazing. I like the "off center" flower better than perfectly centered. I just went back and looked at Nanette's version she finished in 2021. I wonder what happened to all her quilts.
Gorgeous blocks! This is going to be a lovely quilt.
These blocks are beautiful. So many different techniques in one quilt.Wow!
Wow. Your blocks are gorgeous and really complement the overall block! Very impressive!
Such sweet blocks, Gretchen. The Square Peg block makes me smile- adorable. Your applique is always a joy to see and an inspiration!
I do love a hexie - so those are my favourites! xx
You've made beautiful blue blocks again.
Cutting away the fabric on the back is something I never do myself.
Greetings,

There is just no way to hand quilt through all those layers and have the stitches look nice.
The hexagon flowers remind me of gemstones! Lovely. Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.
I love the blue tones on this one! I can't find a mistake BTW. You are really inspiring me to want to do some applique!
Once again, so pretty and the blues so calming! Oooh, love a couple of EPP blocks in the mix.
Pretty blocks, they look wonderful with the appliqué on the centers! Your fabric and value placements are perfect. It may be thick, but I love all these layers! Thank you for sharing and linking up!
Blues are always a good choice for a quilt and I know how much you enjoy that color. I love the variety of pieced and appliqued blocks: right up your alley. AND so well constructed by you!
These blocks are so cute, Gretchen. I really admire you doing this all by hand. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
I missed this post last Sunday! I think your star blocks are delightful, and as a Confirmed, Diagnosed and Hopelessly Irredeemable Perfectionist I give them my stamp of approval. In my opinion, those subtle irregularities enhance this particular quilt. I think Susan Smith designed the original to look like an antique handmade quilt and the combination of your impeccable piecing and stitching with the ever so slightly off center star is “perfect” to channel that vibe. I can’t wait to get to this block! I am still stitching appliqué blocks from Month One, two are finished with 7 to go I think but at least they are all prepped and ready to stitch.
More beautiful blocks Gretchen. Thank you for sharing on To-Do Tuesday. 😁 Carol
