There are 7 square blocks in a row. The next row will have 5 square blocks and 2 side triangles.
So far the quilting has been stitch in the ditch. There will be a few blocks in this quilt that might have an overall design but not in this row.
I've made good progress on prepping the Star Dance applique but nothing to show.

I love this quilt and have come to realize one of the reasons I decided to not make the quilt after I had the book was the colors that the author used really threw me off and I couldn't see it any other way and I hated her colors LOL -- I love your colors and have seen it in red/white combo and loved that too
The square blocks are 6" finished.
I didn't want to make another blue & white quilt so this time I decided to make it scrappy blues with yellow. Sometimes it is really hard to imagine a quilt in another colorway.
Such a fun hand quilting project... each block is a challenge to decide on the stitching path.
It is looking wonderful. Can't wait to see how you handle the setting triangles.

Your hand quilting is lovely. I love to quilt when there are different blocks. It makes the task much more enjoyable and seems to go more quickly. Nice job!
