Blue 4-Patch Blocks

I've finally completed 28 blue 4-patch blocks for the RSC for July. Here are 9 of the blocks on display.

Some of these fabrics would have worked for the mixed color month but I just threw them in anyway. They just add a little zing to the overall effect.

Now I need to piece the Star Dance blocks.

  1. I was just writing a comment on another blog how much I like a blue and white combo. Yours is good.

    1. That red is actually a blue & red variegated fossil fern fabric. That little 1" square happens to be all red but it sure livens up that block.

  3. Oops I hope you have noticed the top left hand block. One 4 patch is going the wrong way.
    Love the blues though

    1. Thanks, I missed that. I'll have to dig through the blocks and find that one. That is the sort of thing that will drive me nuts if it gets quilted that way!

  4. Every quilt needs a little (or a lot of) zing!!! The touch red in the sea of blue is just perfect.

  5. Looking good Gretchen! I did that when I first started putting the blocks together 2 times and from then on I really check them, or I would be the Queen of Ripping again!!!!!

  10. Those are pretty in blue and white, and I, too, love the little zing of red in that one square!

  12. Great blocks. Definitely like the touch of red, it somehow draws your attention even more to the blue squares.
