After reaching the center of the quilt from the east side, I started over on the west side.
I've been asked if I have a problem with bulk or puckers in the center from doing this. No, never.
The outside border is completely quilted all around the quilt.
I rolled, this is how far the quilting has progressed on the pieced border. This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another. If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.

Wow! your "start" on the second half is a great jump on a finish !!! I have pondered if this was an option in the past with the right frame.. now I know it can work! Thanks Gretchen.. as always you open my eyes :)
Your quilting looks fabulous on this top.. glad you dusted off this frame and showed us all how it can be done! Kathi
I love seeing the progress on this project. Gretchen, you're amazing!
Is there a reason you work from both sides? I don't think I could do that using my hoop frame.
I love how your quilting is evening out all that ripply white fabric. The designs are just perfect for this quilt. Love it!
I enjoy seeing your progress on the handquilting. Beautiful.
This quilt isn't bad but when I quilt a large quilt, the front rail gets so thick with the rolled up quilt. Other than that, I don't know why I do this. This is how I've always quilted with the old sticks and stands, habit I guess.
When I see all those puckers .... you are a miracle worker! I'm enjoying and amazed at the results as you quilt along.
You have done a terrific job working out the puckers! Beautiful hand work and you have really done a great job on this one, as always.
It still astonishes me how you're able to tame those puckers! Such beautiful work!
What an amazing job getting that top into submission! Your quilting stitches are gorgeous as always, but I especially love the pattern you are using around the center, it's i spiring!
You answered my question before I even had to ask it... I wondered about puckering in the middle.
It looks so beautiful!
Congratulations on getting to the second half. Great job on getting the puckers out too! Have a great stitching day!
Great progress! Must be very satisfying to finish round the border. Hadn't even occurred to me about puckering but it's an excellent question!
My you sure can put a quilt through in a hurry! Lovely!!
You are going to be finished with this one in no time. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
I love seeing your progress every week. Such lovely stitches.
This quilt just keeps getting better and better.
This beauty was a huge undertaking and is truly gorgeous. Your stitching is perfect :)
Beautiful! I love how you're continuing the fans in the patchwork!
Great progress, and it's going to be so lovely as a finish.
