Starting the 2nd Half

After reaching the center of the quilt from the east side, I started over on the west side.

I've been asked if I have a problem with bulk or puckers in the center from doing this. No, never.

The outside border is completely quilted all around the quilt.

I rolled, this is how far the quilting has progressed on the pieced border.

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.

Wow! your "start" on the second half is a great jump on a finish !!! I have pondered if this was an option in the past with the right frame.. now I know it can work! Thanks Gretchen.. as always you open my eyes :)
Your quilting looks fabulous on this top.. glad you dusted off this frame and showed us all how it can be done! Kathi

Is there a reason you work from both sides? I don't think I could do that using my hoop frame.

This quilt isn't bad but when I quilt a large quilt, the front rail gets so thick with the rolled up quilt. Other than that, I don't know why I do this. This is how I've always quilted with the old sticks and stands, habit I guess.

You answered my question before I even had to ask it... I wondered about puckering in the middle.
It looks so beautiful!

Great progress! Must be very satisfying to finish round the border. Hadn't even occurred to me about puckering but it's an excellent question!
