The first four blocks in section ten of Stonefields are these pieced blocks called Fallen Rosebud.
Foundation paper-piecing was used to piece these blocks.
The next two blocks are called The Dice. They were pieced then appliqued circles were added.
These blocks remind me of the game, Tic Tac Toe except there are no X's, just O's.
These blocks were a good way to use up smaller pieces of background fabrics.
I'm home from retreat and playing catch up! I'll try to read missed blog post during the week sometimes but it's impossible to read all of them!
I now realize that somehow I published 2 posts today! Here is a link to the Princess & the Pea.

Those dice blocks are really cute! I am barely able to read all the blogs every day, especially since some folks post daily, much less catch up after several days.
Great progress on all these blocks this week. I bet you whipped them out in no time and that it took longer to pick out the fabrics than it did to sew them. Have a great week.
Great progress on your blocks and take your time catching up. I look forward to reading about all you accomplished and the fun you had at retreat!
You have so many beautiful blocks for this project, it's going to be fun to see these all come together in one quilt.
More wonderful blocks for your stonefields quilt! Gail at the cozy quilter
Fabulous blocks, Gretchen. I just adore the Dice blocks. I always admire your applique. You do such beautiful work. Blessings.
Love the blues in the dice blocks!
The dice are cute. xx
The blocks are both so pretty! Love the fabric you chose!
Very sweet blocks! You are really cruising along!
Nice simple blocks this week! Yes, the "Dice" do bring to mind "Tic Tac Toe". I could see doing this and palying with the values of the background squares to create the "X". Hmmm, a fun improv project.....
Great blocks this week. I really love those dice blocks! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings. Have a great week.
