I made as many Dots & Dashes blocks as I had cut pieces for. It isn't large enough to be a comforter top for MCC but it's big enough for a cozy quilt for the cancer center at Goshen Hospital.
I pulled black fabric with bright streamers or ribbons to be used for sashing. I thought it would add some zing to the various fabrics in the quilt.

I didn't have enough of the lavender 30's floral fabric for borders. I'll try to find something similar the next time I'm in Shipshewana.

The dots & Dash is a beautiful way to use up scraps ,the purple Jewel box & embroidery is cute,thanks for the link for other patterns,lots of interesting ways to use up scraps
I just love that pattern, the way the blocks look together, and the fabrics are beautiful. You were genius in your choice of a border! I like the little 4-patch in the corner. Jewel Box is very pretty! Did you granddaughter use a kind of embroidered cross stitch for the little animals? I zoomed in but couldn't quite tell. I love the bunny that is in light thread.

A great idea to add the streamers onto your top. You have been busy getting many of your blocks into finished tops. It is a great feeling to have the blocks sewn into tops. Have a great day. It is too hot up north for any sewing. The heat dome with 43C is not fun,we are looking forward to some more reasonable weather conditions from the weekend.

Such a pretty 'jewel box' quilt, very effective in this 2 colour palette. And the border on 'dots & dashes' is perfect form drawing out all the quilt colours!
