The hexie flowers were appliqued to the center white squares and the corner pieces were pieced. I didn't have enough fabric to for a border but that will soon be rectified.
I spent the better part of three days hand appliqueing then sewing the rest of the pieces! Small projects always take longer than I think they will to piece. She'll be machine quilted sometime.
Here is a link to the prior post. In this post, I linked to a post from A Quilting Life. That link no longer works for some reason.
When I bought the pattern last spring it was called Blooms, now the title is Bouquet. Here is a link to the pattern but sometimes online it comes up as Blooms!
I did some shopping on the resale table and purchased this Tree of Life applique kit. I remember my mother appliqueing a similar quilt years ago. I don't know when this quilt will be moved into the rotation but I just couldn't say no.
A wannabe purchase was this Crabapple Hill snowman pillow but I couldn't find the price on it. When I asked the seller what the price was, she gave it to me! I don't know when this project will happen either but winter is so very long and dreary!

Your Blooms quilt is so pretty! I would rather do a hexie project like that than a full hexie quilt. It could be taken in my sew-to-go bag easier than a big full hexie project too. LOVE that tree of life quilt! someday...
I wouldn't have been able to say no to the Tree of Life pattern/quilt neither, Gretchen. It is gorgeous. It looks as if you have a few lovely sewing pretties to last you through your very long and dreary winter. Your Bouquet or Blooms quilt is lovely and of course the hexie flowers are sweet.
Your finished quilt top is sew cute with all those EPP flowers :) Pieced strategically into the quilt whatever you call it... your new winter projects look like fun!!!!
Kathi
Bouquet turned out beautifully! Congrats on all the progress.
nice one.
I like your Blooms quilt. Those hexie flowers are wonderful. I like your new purchases also. Enjoy your stitching.
Your Blooms quilt is lovely, such pretty reds. Hopefully you can find a great border pattern/fabric.
Whatever the name (a rose is a rose) your quilt is so pretty. Of course I am intrigued by the hand stitching and those pretty hexies. She looks so pretty with those contrasting colours going on. That is also a beautiful quilt project and how sweet to be gifted the Crabapple Hill project. I've stitched so many of Meg's and enjoyed them all. Happy Stitching, Gretchen.
I almost got that kit above one time - a quilter was giving it away and wanted me to take it but at the time I was so busy with other things I thought it would sit in the stash and never be made so I didn't take it.
Your Bouquet/Blooms quilt is gorgeous - the reds are lovely and that's a nice setting for the hexie-flowers. Two very lovely new projects for you to get your teeth into one day - I imagine the Tree of Life will be a long term project but oh so lovely!
The two new kits are adorable, just your cup of tea!
I LOVE your epp project! That is just so sweet. And I'm looking forward to seeing what you're working on this winter - it looks like you'll have plenty to choose from :)
It’s a good idea to get a few new projects to work on this winter…you have moved a lot of quilts to the finish line lately. Such a pretty hexie quilt!
Like you Blooms quilt and the Tree of LIfe pattern! Hugs
Your Blooms/Bouquet (Bouquet of Blooms?) quilt is lovely, Gretchen! I love how you used a variety of small scale red prints rather than the same fabric throughout. It gives it a wonderful vintage vibe, so much more interesting than it would have been with just two or three fabrics. I recognize that Tree of Life pattern! I know I've seen that somewhere made up into an exquisite finished quilt (not by me!) and I can't wait to see that pattern interpreted in your skilled hands!
That is a sweet little quilt! Your retreat acquisitions look like marvelous projects, Gretchen!
Your hexie flowers is SO fun!!! Love the color you are using!!!
Very pretty flowers and great new project patterns!
What a beautiful project. I like how it turned out.
Your hexie. quilt looks amazing, Gretchen. I love how you set your hexe blocks. I hope you do no mind, but I am going to remember your color combination for a future project. I am working on a hexie quilt right now. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
Your use of hexies and placement of HSTs really makes for a beautifully simple quilt top - so restful but fascinating to look at too. And a great way to work through a scrap bin!
Your bloom quilt is gorgeous, Gretchen! And, oh my, how I look forward to seeing that Tree of Life applique quilt when you complete it. The Crabapple Hill snowman pillow will be adorable, as well! Thanks for linking up with Monday Musings! Have a great week and blessed Thanksgiving!
Love your hexie blooms quilt! What a fun story about the Snowman pillow kit!
