I enjoyed the embroidery but decided to finish the blocks in my own way instead of Jacquelynne's design.
This quilt has been quilted in my machine quilting marathon and she measures 42-1/2" by 45".
For the machine quilting, I stitched horizontally and vertically around the 9 patches, then diagonally in both directions. The embroidered blocks only have diagonal quilting.
This is the last of this blue oval fabric, I thought it went perfectly with the blues in the front. Unfortunately I didn't have quite enough so I had to add the narrow strip to the side.

Such a lovely little quilt this is.. I love that you found a place for that sweet embroidery too !!! Lovely backing and how you fixed the shortage too! Nice machine quilting too <3

Such a lovely idea for finishing this BOM. I was doing the appliqué version, and like you didn't care so much for the setting pieces. I think I might well follow your lead of using the centres from the BOM along with some other appliqué pieces in quilt.
Beautiful finish, I love blue and yellow quilts.
A lovely finish! Don’t you just sigh when the backing is short by inches? I don’t know how many times that has happened to me. Good fix!
Sweet quilt!
This turned out so pretty Gretchen! I tell you, you have been cranking out the quilts this year!!!! Hugs
At least I didn't have to piece that extra piece! It's finished though and I'm a happy quilter!
I no longer feel the need to finish my quilts like the way the designer does. These blocks would have never been finished if I had tried to make myself make the quilt Jacquelynne's way. I look forward to seeing how you finish your quilt. Happy stitching!
SEW sweet!! Congratulation on a lovely finish.
What a nice quilt. I haven't done hand embroidery in years. I did Jacquelynne's Silver Lining quilt this year but I skipped the hand embroidery. The top is done but will be spending a little time relaxing in the quilt closet -- I need to find backing one of these days.
I really like quilts with embroidery. Congrats on your finish.
I have a redwork quilt top with embroidered nursery rhymes that I was going to put into the hope chest for a great grandchild someday. I was going to hand quilt, then I was going to machine quilt but I just can't figure out if the embroidery will look okay if I stitch over the top of it. Evidently it will!
Très beau quilt, et j'aime beaucoup ce bloc brodé incorporé 😍
Another finish! Wonderful job. I love that backing fabric you used. One of my favorite things about quilting blogs is to see all the wonderful fabrics other quilters use.
LOVE IT!
Hi Gretchen, I really like quilts with embroidery - they are so special. Yours is a really beauty. Thanks so much for linking up to Free Motion Mavericks! Take care.
It is wondeful!! what a great way to set off the embroidery - and wow!! that back went perfect with it!
The nine patch looks so pretty with the embroidered squares sprinkled throughout. A lovely quilt!
