Teal Stars is a complete finish, she came home from Calico Point last Saturday.
She's displayed on our bed because I don't want to use the quilt line, the plants aren't all up yet in the flowerbed. I don't want her dragging in the soil.
The Baptist Fan quilting was perfect choice for this quilt.
That is double delight peeking out under teal stars. We have a king sized bed. At 96" square, teal stars will fit nicely on a queen or regular sized bed.
The white fabric surrounding the stars display the quilting nice, the teal fabrics are more busy. The backing fabric is a white whole cloth fabric with small white flowers.
One more picture, just because!
Here is a link to several posts about Teal Stars, the flimsy, the center, the first star. Teal Stars was the first of several quilts I've pieced for granddaughter Joanna this year. This quilt was #6 on my long lists of quilts for this year . . . and beyond!
One of the reasons I'm pushing myself to make these quilts for the granddaughters is I'll turn 70 this year. I watched my mother succumb to dementia and no longer have the comprehension or ability to finish the many projects she used to easily complete. I may not develop dementia but I want these quilts completed just in case. I have so many quilts on my to do list, I'll never run out of quilts to make.

Teal Stars is absolutely gorgeous. The baptist fan quilting is just right. Well done!
Soooo beautiful! I love the colours, pattern and details! Warm greetings from Montreal, Canada.
That's turned out beautifully.
Stunning! And the quilting works perfectly. xx
She is glorious. The value gradations are absolutely perfect!
Another gorgeous quilt, I really love this one! The quilting just sets it all off beautifully.
Beautiful finish, Gretchen!!! I love all the small-ish Baptist Fans running around the quilt! Great choice for binding, too!
Oh my gosh, Gretchen. This quilt is just so beautiful and those gorgeous swirls are the finishing touch! What an awesome quilter you are!
I pieced the quilt but Calico Point did the quilting. Even though I've been quilting for many years, I'm always surprised by how quilting brings a quilt to life!
Well, don't you know! We are the same age. And you, my dear, have just been sewing away. Another gorgeous quilt: those teals are so calming!
Oh what a stunner - and the baptist fans are perfect for it!! I love that you want to finish as much as you can - that is a great way to get your love out there!!!!
Congratulations on your finish. I've enjoyed watching this come together. Your granddaughter will be thrilled.
It’s wonderful!! I am getting ready to test a Baptist Fan digital design on a test quilt. I don’t want to use it on a real quilt until I know I can do it right!
Congratulations on completing Teal Stars, Gretchen . It is a beauty. The Baptist Fan quilt motif is one of my favorites. I wish you a wonderful weekend.
That is a beautiful finish, Gretchen! Baptist fans quilting provides just the right amount of texture!
What a lovely finish, love the quilting. This quilt is gorgeous, like all your work. I hope to see more and more beautiful quilts for many years to come, my best wishes for this to come true. Love you.
