Blueberry Pie Applique

Applique on the blueberry pie border is making slow progress. I've lost my enthusiasm for some reason.

The original plan had been to applique all four corners. This is the second corner and that's going to be it. This quilt will be hand quilted and feathers will quilted in the other corners.

The pattern for Blueberry Pie is found in the Red, White and Sometimes Blue book but it's not called Blueberry Pie, you'll find it listed as Writer's Block. I thought the name was rather unimaginative so I changed it to reflect the blues used in my quilt.

The pattern in the book does NOT have an applique border, this is my addition. The border is a variation of the center medallion from the Lady Jane pattern, designed by Nancy Rink.

It's a bother when we lose enthusiasm with what we are working on. Your applique border is beautiful and very detailed; I'm not at all surprised interest has waned a little. This is a stunning quilt.

It really is a lovely quilt, even with this corner peek. Hope you are having a great weekend!

What a pretty corner appliqué!!! And yes, I like your name for the quilt much better than theirs!?!

I can see where one could overindulge on blueberry pie. Perhaps a little savory treat is needed before having another slice. The good thing about this type of pie is it never goes bad. It'll be there waiting and just as delicious as was from the start.

Hang in there! We all know that "slump" that can happen when the spark is missing on a project. Maybe she just needs to hibernate (but not for too long). Looks very pretty, though!

Bummer this one has lost your interest a bit. It sure is a beauty.

Sorry it has lost your interest, but it sure is beautiful. Sounds like time to work on something else for awhile.

There does come a time when your's just D-O-N-E with a project. Sounds like that time has come for Blueberry Pie. After its quilted, you'll love it again though. You do such wonderful work. I am in awe.

This quilt is a beauty, Gretchen and the border is just lovely. It is so wonderful that you already have an idea on how you are going to quilt it. Have a lovely Sunday.

The quilt will be beautiful with just two appliqued corners and the other two quilted. I am sure you will enjoy the quilting.

Such a shame as it is looking so beautiful, however it will still be a gorgeous quilt. Looking forward to seeing all your lovely quilting. xx

Every time I see this one I think Wow!! Putting the applique in only 2 corners is actually quite clever. It gives the quilt a little touch of extra elegance without becoming the whole focus.

Your applique and hand-quilting are always lovely. It is already beautiful, as is. I can't wait to see it finished. Thanks for sharing in my Sew & Tell party

The applique is gorgeous! Sometimes you are just done. At least you have a finishing plan.

What a beautiful pattern, and your applique is stunning. I also like your name MUCH better than "Writer's Block" - what????

I am #17 on Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching if you would like to stop by.

Why not put it away for a bit and then take it out and see if you still feel that way. If you do, then go with your plan. I wouldn't want you to be sorry afterwards. Beautiful quilt.

Hang in there Gretchen! Maybe the name Writer's Block should be Stitcher's Block! It happens to all of us sometimes. This is such a gorgeous quilt! I really look forward to seeing it finished...no pressure though! Thanks for linking up with Monday Musings!
