After most of the quilting was completed on the white border, I rolled then quilted more of the corner applique I couldn't properly reach before.
After rolling several inches, I started quilting the blue sashing first stitching in the ditch on the right yellow narrow border and the cable on the narrow blue border. The quilting design is the same as the narrow blue border. The design runs through the yellow cornerstones.
The pattern for Stars Around the Garden is here.
I have an applique project and a quilt to hand quilt but I was squirreled into embroidering the sheep and making a little pincushion. For years I've been thinking I'd like to have a basket filled with pincushions to display in my sewing room, not that anyone goes in there besides me. So far I have 3 pincushions to go into that basket.
The embroidery went fast, just one evening then an hour or so the next day and the pincushion was finished. I stuffed it with batting and it's ready to be used. This was a fun quick project.
I apologize for the pictures every which way today, Blogger decided to show me who was the boss!

Argh...Blogger, sometimes it doesn't play nicely. Your quilting is looking more exquisite with each showing. Love your three little pincushions. How fabulous to have a basket filled with more of these pretties. Your latest one is very sweet. Love the little sheep with the sweet birdie.
Your quilting is beautiful and I love that little embroidery so cute.
I love seeing your quilting. Those pincushions are adorable.
I love seeing your quilting...such beautiful texture and the appliqué is made even more lovely as it is quilted. I also have a pincushion collection, but they are not in a basket, just on a shelf where I can admire them
I love your hand quilting progress and your pin cushion you fashioned too! I love your handiwork :D
Kathi
Your hand quilting is wonderful. And you embroidered a cute pincushion. A new collection was born. It will be fun seeing that basket full filled of small beauties. I will check the cross stitch item, thanks for the link.
I simply love this applique and your quilting really elevates this project. Lovely job!
Your quilt and quilting is so beautiful!
the quilting is looking so good, the colors in this quilt are so nice and bright - but still old fashioned in the look. The little pincushions are cute
Your border is just beautiful. Great progress! A basket full of sweet little pin cushions sounds like fun. Looks like you are off to a good start already.
I love that cable border and have used it a couple of times myself. Hand quilting just seems to make a quilt come to life!
I love your quilting - that cable and feathers pattern is perfect for this quilt. I've seen lots of little baskets and dough bowls filled with small pillows and pincushions around the stitching SM, and I really like the look. Your new one is darling.
Pretty quilting , I love these designs. Cute pincushions!
Thank you for linking up today.
gorgeous quilting!
Cute stitchery! Love seeing your beautiful quilting!
Oh , Gretchen your quilting is absolutely stunning. I am in love with this blue quilt. Thank you so much for stitching Luv Ewe. It looks so adorable displayed in your basket with other pinkeeps. I have a love for pin pillows or should I say obsession. I am so touched that you stitched it and I appreciate the sweetest shout out too. Looking forward to your next post. Hugs
Your quilting is always so beautiful. That is a very cute pincushion. I like the idea of a basket full of pretty little stitching projects, even if you are the only one who goes in there! You can show us so we can enjoy them too!
(yeah, photos are currently a bit of a pain with Blogger) Look at your tiny quilting stitches! I love all these close-ups, Gretchen. :) The pincushions are absolutely adorable - no wonder they succeeded in grabbing your attention. I think a pretty basketful of eye-candy pincushions is a very nice treat to give yourself in your sewing room.
cute little thing!
Your quilt is gorgeous and I am always in awe of your stitching!! What a great idea to have a basket of pincushions in the sewing room.
Oh my goodness, this quilt and your hand quilting on it look amazing. Beautiful!
