The hand quilting on Noah's Ark crib quilt was completed this week. I washed it to remove the markings before measuring which is 41" by 48". I think it looks really cute.
Number 12 Sulky thread was used for the hand quilting. For the backing fabric I used this blue brown cow fabric I bought years ago. Very thin polyester batting was used for the center. I like a thinner batting in a crib quilt because if it is too thick, it's not cuddly and babies need to be cuddled.
I actually finished marking the quilting lines on blue Stars Around the Garden . . . and . . . I put it in the quilting frame yesterday! Pictures next Sunday.

Noah's quilt is so sweet and love the stitching. I know that you are happy to get SAG in the frame! Hugs
Oh Sew Cute! I'm on the lookout for a panel and fabric. Seems that Noah's Ark is popular again, because I'm having a bit of a problem finding fabric. A new grand nephew is expected in Feb and his parents are using a collection of Noah's Ark collectibles from his late grandmother. So sweet and I really want to add to the theme!
I love the cow print, it is the perfect backing for the Noah’s Ark. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with your Stars Around the Garden. It is stunning already, so I can only imagine what it will look like finished!
Such a precious little quilt. I love Noah's Ark and the backing is so stinking cute. Happy quilting.
I knew you would have this finished quickly, once the animals were done. :) And I'm eagerly anticipating all the pretty pictures as Stars Around the Garden is worked on!
Great finish! I can just imagine a sweet little baby being cuddled in it! Stars Around the Garden is stunning. So glad you chose to quilt it next. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
