Applique & Hand Quilting

I was determined to make progress on my hand projects this week and I did!

First the hand quilting. I binged watched season 4 of the Crown last Sunday then finished the last  couple episodes the next day. I quilted all the way across the quilt. I originally thought this would take longer because of all the detail around the animals, but all the drama kept me alert.

Another corner of blue Stars Around the Garden has been appliqued, I'm picking up speed with the applique.

After the applique is finished, I will mark the quilting. Blue stars is the next quilt in the hand quilting frame.

I noticed these birds in these trees last week. They were really singing away.

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.

  10. I have been watching the Crown also. I saw the queen and Prince Philip on their golden jubilee tour in Canada 2002. Also, I saw Princess Margaret and Princess Anne at the Royal Show in England in 1996 when we celebrated our 25th anniversary in England.

  13. You do such lovely work, both the applique and the hand quilting. Wonder why all those birds were singing together--are they a community choir? Have a great week.

  21. The quilting on the cot panel is lovely, it really makes the animals in the ark pop. I've never watched the crown but I will catch up with it one day. Apparently the royal family don't like the new series! Or maybe that's just hype to bring the viewing figers up!
