The 3rd corner of the Star Dance border is completed. The star blocks were pieced in 2017 for the RSC. I had decided that I wouldn't start a new RSC project this year until Star Dance was completed into a flimsy. I'm getting close!
I would have like to take outside pictures but it was extremely windy and I didn't want to chase the quilt across the yard.
A view of the whole quilt.
A closer view of the applique completed this week.
Close up view of the corner.
Kathi asked for a close up of one of the stars so here it is.

Well done!
Such a gorgeous quilt. The appliqué really makes it special. Keep up the good work!
Oh Gretchen!!! I love Star Dance and the progress you are making!!! That third corner and the close up looks AMAziNG!!!! Thanks for sharing :D Kathi
After seeing your beautiful Star Dance quilt I had to order the pattern!
Three out of four ain't bad!! Best of luck with the completion of the final corner.
Great work on the applique, The quilt is looking great!
Have fun with the pattern. I did make more stars so my quilt will be larger than the pattern. I'm using the same applique design though.
It is looking wonderful isn't it, I'm very pleased anyway.
Just lovely! The appliqué border frames the rainbow stars beautifully.
You have done some really nice handwork. It will be a work of art when you finish.
I am wondering how big your quilt finishes. It also looks like you put your star blocks on point where the original pattern did not. Am I correct? Love the quilt!
Hi Gretchen,
Wow, this is really nearing the final corner so to speak. It really is beautiful, and I can see why you were drawn to the pattern originally. Your fabric choices are superb and really make the whole project. Soon you will showing it on your bed! Happy Sunday! ~smile~ Roseanne
I need to measure the quilt and see how big it is. It's not a bed quilt, the pieced star blocks finish at 4". I'm not a quilt designer, I'm a pattern changer. I need to have a pattern to begin with then I decide what I want to change to make the quilt my own. I'm not fond of squares quilts, I want them rectangular. Yes, the stars are on point now, I like diagonal settings. The original idea I had was to make this into a crib quilt but it's going to be too large for that now. I'll get the quilt measured this week and incorporate all this information into next week's post. Thanks for your comment.
This is a happy quilt and it makes me happy to work on it. What I especially like about it is that all the fabrics came from my stash. I didn't buy anything for it. Of course it didn't make a dent in the stash. I don't know if I will be able to finish the applique border this week or not. Depends on whether it quits raining then we need to wait for the soil to dry out before we can drive equipment on it.
I love this quilt! It is so bright and cheerful. The applique is the perfect complement to those stars.
Love the border. I think you might have inspired me to finally dig out my midget appliqué project and work on the border next month!
Lovely work on this...so pretty hugs, Julierose
This is a beautiful quilt. I love the applique you've added on the borders.
Absolutely beautiful! I almost started mine this morning, but Mountmellick and I have a long way to go! You have done some beautiful quilts this last year and the last 5 months a tremendous job in cleaning UFO’s. Can hardly wait to see a finished Nearly Insane!
Your Star Dance quilt is so fresh looking Gretchen and the stars look great on point I did not realise how small those stars were????? Lots of work but oh they look so lovely. Great border to finish them off. Glad you are finishing this lovely quilt top. Hugs Glenda who is also having several finishes this year Yahhhhhhh !!!!!!
