It's May and I've pulled the unfinished Baskets & 9 Patches project to progress into the flimsy stage. I had to look to find when I last worked on this quilt, it was in August 2017.
This pattern was designed by Karen H from Faires & Fibres.
Spring has finally arrived in northern Indiana. The grass is green and the girls are down in the field.
This gate was shut last November. The cows spent the winter in the free stall shed dreaming about summer pasture.
The gate has been opened and Rissa is the first to head down to pasture.
Happy, happy cows!
This was still a chilly day, notice the grandson in his winter coat and hat.
Heading toward the grass.
Then there is always the head butting trying to work their way up the social order.
Making sure the water tank is ready to go.
Finally all settled down and enjoying the sunshine.
The chicks are growing. They love their heat lamp.

Hi Gretchen,
I love your nine-patch/basket project! The colors in it are so pretty and bright - it looks fab hanging on the fence. Oh to enjoy Spring - I can almost imagine those cows skipping into the pasture! heehee And the baby chicks look so cute and cuddly - I can hear them cheeping. ~smile~ Roseanne P.S. Are you on Bloglovin'? I'm going to try to follow you there!
Those chicks are so cute. I'm sure those cows are so happy. Great quilt.
don't you just love spring - the farm looks like it is in full swing getting ready for summer
I have the baskets and nine patches pattern but have not started on it. You have areas for some nice quilting in the central part of the quilt.
That's a beautiful nine patch flimsy. It looks like there's weaving action going on too., very nice.
And you're enjoying spring, thanks for sharing your photos.
