Other blogs are posting about starting new projects for this New Year. I also have a couple of new projects I will be starting to piece but I'll talk about them in a different post.
My main goal in 2018 is to finish up several unfinished quilts that are in varying stages of progress. I've made a list of 10 projects. Will I actually get 10 quilts all pieced? No, but I'm hoping to get at least 5 of them into the flimsy stage and make progress on the others.
I will talk about each quilt as I work on it. I am not going to rush myself, just plod along at my own pace.
First on the list is the Pastor's Attic Quilt.
The center is pieced and the borders are finally marked.
A start has been made, these are 2 flower buds on the first border.
The Pastor's Attic Quilt book was written by Marsha D. Radtke in 2009 and published by AQS. She found the original quilt in the attic of the parsonage in which they were living. I call it the Pastor's Attic Quilt (and she does too in the forward) because there are so many Baltimore Album quilts and I want to differentiate my quilt from the crowd. This book is now out of stock.

What a beautiful quilt! I can’t wait to see how the borders come along each week. I also have a list of UFO’s to work on.. it is hard to resist starting something new...
Nice to see this beauty out again! :)
That is beautiful! If the borders look anything like the center it is going to be breathtaking! I love applique quilts like this.
Blessings...

Your blocks are so beautiful and yes, get it sashed and finished. It will be a work of art.
The book is in my stash.
this will be a beauty - I have this book and combined it with another book of the same type to make a quilt mixing pattern blocks from both into one quilt
Such a lovely quilt it's nice to see you working on it again.
Wow... so much stitching in this project already! ENjoy working on the borders!
What a glorious quilt! Looking forward to seeing your progress on the borders.
Your quilt is beautiful!
Wow that's a spectacular pattern, I look forward to seeing your progress 😍
Wow! what a gorgeous quilt!
Your applique quilt is stunning! You've come so far already; it's worth sticking with it until the finish line before setting it aside.
this is beautiful!! can't wit to see it finished
I bought the book when it first came out and have all the fabrics in a project box along with other similar boxes just waiting for me to stop starting new quilts and finish a few others. Yours is really beautiful.
Your work is awesome! I am looking forward to seeing the finished quilt.
WOW! very nice!
Gretchen you do such beautiful work. I want to make this quilt also - need to review that 2018 list.
Such a producer of beautiful works of treasures!
I really enjoyed appliqueing the blocks for this quilt, the border, not so much. It's just the idea of having this quilt finished is carrying me through. I am looking forward to getting this quilt in the frame next fall. I've known how I wanted to quilt her before I ever started appliqueing.
I'm looking forward to seeing the finished quilt too. I'm really looking forward to hand quilting her. Thanks for stopping by.
You've made several completely appliqued quilts. They take a lot of time!
Enjoy the journey
oh, wow! There's so much beautiful work in your Pastor's Attic. Looks like some gorgeous borders are going to happen, too.
Hi Gretchen,
Wonderful goal for 2018! I actually have made myself a similar list that I posted either at the end of the year or early in January. I can't recall - HAHA - and yet somehow I'm going to follow that list. I hate to say that I have also just purchased 14 new fabrics for new projects . . . yet I still plan to get those UFOs all complete too. Too ambitious perhaps but it sure will be fun to try. ~smile~ Roseanne
Thank you for your participation this week at the Show and Tell Monday !! Bambi
