Center blocks.

What I'm quilting now.
I'm still frustrated by the King Tut thread. Using Thread Heaven has helped immensely but there are still too many knots and loops. I'll never use this thread again!
Evenings are when I like to applique. I'm working on the first two borders of the Pastor's Attic quilt. I know, poor quality photo.
Yes, it is going to be straight vine appliqued. Every time I tried to envision a curved vine in my mind, the vine straightens into a straight line so that's the way it is going to be.

Good to know about King Tut. I'm finding it harder to find handquilting thread. I'm starting a quilt this week and my quilt shop only had 5spools in only two colours. Luckily it was YLI, which I like, and one of the colours was suitable
I look forward to seeing the border you are working on next to some of the blocks.
Thanks for the info on King Tut thread. I can find your basic hand-quilting thread at JoAnn's fabric and I don't do all that much, but I keep note of what other quilters like and don't like. Your quilt is looking fabulous. I love your quilting.
Thanks for the tip on King Tut thread. There is nothing worse that twists and knots. I am a big fan of coats and clark and YLI. Love your quilt, great color combo and your quilting designs are bringing it alive
I clicked through to your applique project introduction. WOW. A Baltimore Album quilt is on my 'bucket list' - someday.
Your hand quilting is lovely. I especially like the 'rope' motif you are using for the inner border.
occasionally I have gotten a spool of King Tut that I haven't liked and found it "didn't behave" but over all they work for me - are you cutting long pieces? Generally I used about 18 inches and using it right now on the current quilt and rarely have problems with it. I do not use Thread Heaven or anything to coat
Your hand quilting is lovely and will make an exquisite quilt. I had to laugh at your vines having a mind of their own. This happens to me too! You only think you of the boss of things!
If you have completed the middle row, you must be over 1/2 way done! Beautiful quilting.
It's going to be gorgeous - I can picture its look with the markings erased. :) And hey, it's clearly talking to you about its need to be straight.
Oh, what a lovely quilt. The hand quilting is wonderful. I am a hand quilter too. It takes a lot of time but is so worth it in the end. The quilt I'm quilting right now is a bit monotonous but it's going to be wonderful in the end.
King Tut is so expensive and isn't it interesting that the more expensive the quality goes downhill.
This is going to be a light and airy quilt - just in time for Spring! Good stitching Gretchen!
Thank you very much for your link this week to the show and tell you monday !! bambi hug
Thread is so important to an enjoyable stitching experience!
