what kind of yarn do you use for dish rags? I see several make these and wonder if they get really stretched out - I could make these I know my knitting is good enough for that :) Merry Christmas
I use Lily brand Sugar 'N Cream cotton yarn. The variegated will make one dishrag with yarn left over. There is enough yarn on the solid skeins to make 2 dishrags. I use a smaller circular bamboo needle so my stitches are more tight. I have no problems with my dishrags stretching. When I have a lot of leftover yarn from the variegated yarn, I make scrappy dishrags. They are cute too. There are a lot of free knitted dishrag patterns on the internet. I don't remember where I got this pattern from. I don't want anything too complicated, the idea is to relax while I'm knitting.
I love making dishcloths. I have given many to friends. I actually made 2 yesterday as we didn't have any visitors...

I am working on some for a change in pace.
My mother-in-law used to make me new ones every Christmas and now I guess I'll have to learn how to make them myself. This is a lovely pattern! Merry Christmas!
I use Clover brand bamboo needles, size 6 or 7. I like my dishrags more tightly knitted.
I don't even remembered where I got this pattern. All of the name brand yarn companies have free patterns on their websites. Have fun with a new skill.
