More 3030 blocks have been pieced. The 3030 quilt is a BOW from Sentimental Stitches.
I'm piecing my 3030 blocks using the foundation paper piecing patterns Gay has included with the pattern instructions. You can use whichever method you prefer, paper piecing or regular piecing.
I prefer paper piecing because I know the points aren't going to get cut off. Some people think you waste fabric paper piecing. Yes, some fabric is wasted but I have plenty of fabric. I'd rather have the block be perfect the first time, as long as I get the correct fabrics in the block.
This isn't a good project to learn to paper piece with. For some easy beginner foundation paper piecing patterns, check out this link or this link or maybe this link. Just google free foundation paper piecing patterns and a whole list will appear.
Earlier this week I took some time to take pictures of the trees around the house and down the driveway. It's supposed to rain soon and the leaves will start to drop. Enjoy the colors!

I love that background fabric you are using on your blocks... very rich and pretty to set off the colors you are using in the blocks :) I love all the colors you are enjoying on your farm too <3 Kathi
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. The older I get the more I am in awe of the beauty of Fall. I agree with the previous comment, great background colour!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are looking good!
ReplyDeleteBlocks are very striking on that background. I'd rather have cut off points than paper piece anything! I've tried paper piecing several times but always seem to get a case of paper piecing dyslexia. Whatever works!
ReplyDeleteThose blocks are stunning as are the lovely colorful trees.
ReplyDeleteI agree, paper piecing is so precise. Your autumn tree photos are lovely!
ReplyDeletethose are really great blocks, and it does look like a good way to learn paper piecing! love those fall trees - wow!
ReplyDeleteYour 3030 blocks are great!! I, too, love paper piecing and the precision is the main reason!! You know when Autumn is here when the trees deck themselves out in these gorgeous colors!!
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks and your trees!
ReplyDeleteI've been following another 3030 quilt. Both different but both look great......
ReplyDeleteThose bright fabrics make the blocks shimmer! Thanks for linking up to TGIFF last week, yes I am a bit behind on visiting the participants! It's been a week. LOL
