I've started a new quilt that I've wanted to make for several years,OMIGOSH!. I'm not going to make the full size version. A small crib quilt will suit me just fine, large enough to say I made it but small enough I won't loose my mind.
For the past two weeks I've been sewing teeny, tiny, little 9 patch blocks. There are 49 pieces in a 4-1/2" finished block!
I have thought about it several times. That is the exact same size as the one in my Dear Jane quilt. I have even thought about doing these as leaders/enders. I guess making the quilt in a smaller size is okay. I would not have thought of that.
Your blocks are beautiful! Love the colors. That quilt is on my list of quilts to make too. I might make it with the blocks a bit bigger so they are more reasonable.
Hi Gretchen! Holy moly. 49 pieces for a 4.5" block. You are my hero! These are SO cute, and SO little. Those five 9-patch blocks in each bigger block are so darn cute, and I love the fabrics you chose. I think so anyway - HAHA. With the little speck that will show it could be ugly fabric and no one would know. I can't wait to see this come together. ~smile~ Roseanne
Great job! It is always so satisfying to complete a project that you've long wanted to make. Your quilt, regardless of the size, is going to be fantastic!
Great blocks. I too have one waiting similar to yours, with many 1" blocks. Thank you for linking up to Put your foot down. I look forward to seeing your progress.
I made an Omigosh quilt once and then ended up giving it as a gift. Was I nuts? I truly want to make myself a full sized one at some point. I had forgotten about it! Thanks for the reminder and good luck with yours. You are moving along very nicely!
That's a pattern I've been wanting to make too. A small quilt is a great way to go!
