I finally pieced the kit and spent the last week machine quilting on my sewing machine.
I did my usual straight line 1/2" quilting with white thread. She measures 52" by 72".
I had wanted to take pictures outside in the snow but it was too windy so inside the house it was!
I always like the way the straight lines look when they cross in the corners.
I know the spacing in between the lines isn't perfect but, hey, it's quilted!
This was a very easy pattern to make. I like the bright colors and the binding stripe looks lovely!
For backing I used fabric from Amanda Jean's Good Neighbors fabric line which also came from Connecting Threads.
I don't have plans as to who the recipient of this quilt will be but someone will need a quilt and I'll have one ready to go.

that is a nice quilt - I need to get several easy quilts ready to keep on hand.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Perfect quilt to do some straight line quilting. Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! This looks fantastic, Gretchen. And there's no need to apologize for crooked quilting lines. First, it's done, and second, the crookedness gives it interest. I like to see occasional "off" aspects of quilts - lost points, tilted edges, and your kind of quilting. I love it! Well done.
ReplyDeleteI love your finish you are sharing! I have a couple kits in the closet that are "fermenting" I guess... seeing your City View makes me want to pull one out.. maybe that will be focus for 2020 :)
ReplyDeleteI love your organic straight lines... you do a great shop with that! My cross overs may wind up having pleats so I avoid crossing lines... even though I use a walking foot... lol!
Enjoy your snow <3 Kathi
Very cute quilt and the backing fabric is so pretty! Like the binding also! I do not know, but the lines look good to me! Another finish and here I sit!!!! Going to try out the changes to the LA! Hugs
ReplyDeleteI all ways think the straight lines look so classical, simple but elegant. It makes in to a charming quilt some one will be very happy to snuggle under it. Happy sewing and stay warm. Cheers Glenda
ReplyDeleteI have gotten so I love straight line quilting, too. Your finished quilt is so pretty. Love the striped binding!
ReplyDeleteAmanda Jean Nyberg, one of my favorite designers. This is a great one! Your finish is wonderful!

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet quilt!! I love striped bindings. Thanks for linking up with TGIFF!
ReplyDeleteIt's just beautiful. I don't like blue and yet there are some blues that draw me to them. This is one of those!
ReplyDeleteI like it! The colors are so sweet and fresh! and yep - it the winds blowing its just as much fun to take photos!
ReplyDeleteTruly an adorable quilt!
ReplyDeleteHello Gretchen,
ReplyDeleteWhat I beautiful quilt! The simplicity of design, and the contrast of the red with the muted colours, make a perfect combination.
