These blocks are set on point so I took the picture that way. Edith and Janis did such a great job pulling the fabrics for this kit.
I want to get the hand work completed so I can send her to the long arm quilter. I'm not even considering hand quilting this one, too many layers of fabrics.
I took it easy hand quilting this week. Row 3 of the churn dashes has been quilted. I forgot to take a picture before I rolled, but the quilted churn dash blocks look the same as the other times I've shown you before.
I did go to the center of the row and quilted the new quilting design. It looks a little off center, but it's OK. I don't think you'll notice when the quilt is out of the frame and, as I have often said, perfection is over rated at times. Hopefully next Sunday I'll be able to show you all the white squares in this row are quilted.

Your hand quilting looks so lovely. I wonder how you plan to quilt your nearly insane blocks.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I'm going to quilt Insane yet. I'll probably do each block individually like I did Jane. I just tell myself to just get the blocks pieced and think about hand quilting it later.
DeleteThose tulips are looking much more tulippy (!) now you've turned back the edges, it will make a lovely Spring Quilt. As ever your hand quilting is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I can't believe I had forgotten about this project.
DeleteWhat a beautiful project these tulips are and you are making great progress on the Churn Dash quilting!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I find when I start quilting it is hard for me to stop. Then I get sore fingers and can't quilt for several days.
DeleteYour hand quilting is absolute perfection! I love those tulip blocks, so full of springtime cheer.
ReplyDeleteThe tulips make me smile every time I look at them.
DeleteYour blooming tulips are ahead of the ones in my garden which are just peeking out of the soil. Beautiful hand quilting too!
ReplyDeleteMy real tulips aren't up yet but the daffodils are. Thanks for stopping by.
Deletenice hand quilting you do such a great job - love tulips mine are up and blooming but give us some warmer weather and I don't think they will last much longer have been blooming a good two weeks now
ReplyDeleteI agree that the fabrics in the tulip quilt are just gorgeous. I love the pattern that you hand-quilted. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe tulip quilt is going to be a pretty one when done.

ReplyDeleteI have never seen that lovely block of tulips.....your work is exquisite! What eye candy this cold frosty morning! And your hand quilting is perfect! Sigh! I still am wound up from BB game last night. This will be a good day to longarm and work off this energy!

ReplyDeleteYour tulip block is gorgeous. Beautiful hand quilting! Thanks for sharing on Slow Stitching Sunday ... :) Pat
ReplyDeleteTulip quilt is a perfect spring project. I understand why you worked on it this week. May I as is it curved piecing or applique?
ReplyDeleteThey were folded triangles. I rolled the edge back into the curve and stitched it down. The curve isn't sewn to the bottom square. I can put my finger under the curve. This was a fun project.
DeleteI agree, those fabrics are gotgeous for the tulips. That will be a beautiful wall-hanging!
ReplyDeleteThose tulip blocks are amazing! I too love the colors. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteLove the tulips! Oh my...what a gorgeous wall hanging that will be!
ReplyDeleteThe tulips are so pretty and yes - your quilting is absolutely perfect! I love the tulip technique! I am glad that you found it and are finishing it!
ReplyDeleteOh my, this is really quite beautiful!! I'm very impressed with your handiwork! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tulip wall hanging. We are still waiting for our tulips to bloom, so it is fun to see your quilty ones. I just took a glance at your Block 18 post from the Insane quilt. That is insanely wonderful!! (Paper piecing swoon going on here.) Good call on making it all in blue. It's really striking against the background.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your journey through hand quilting! I'm learning from you! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm inspiring you with my quilting. The best hand quilting tip I can share is keep your stitches even whatever the length. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteYour tulips are very spring-like. What a cheery project to be working on.
ReplyDeleteI smile every time I look at this wallhanging. I'm looking forward to her hanging on my wall.
DeleteLovely tulips and your hand quilting skills are impeccable!
ReplyDeleteHey, thanks for linking up at BOMs Away. The tulips really do look nice when you see several of them done up, don't they? Such a small change, but a difference! And yes, perfection is completely over rated - I had to actively look for the off-centeredness to see it. :)
ReplyDeleteYour tulipanquilt is lovely, and also your hand quilting is a beautiful work! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by.
DeleteThanks for linking and the inspiration you give us Show and Tell Monday !! Bambi Hug
ReplyDeleteThe tulip block is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI just love this wall quilt. I can't believe I forgot about it for all these years. She's at the long arm quilter now.
DeleteSo sweet, the blocks are gorgeous
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteOoo! I really like your tulip wall hanging. BEAUTIFUL!!
ReplyDeleteThe tulip wall hanging is finished now and at the long arm quilter. I am so excited to see her when she is completely finished!
DeleteWhat a beautiful job on both the quilt itself and the quilting. You should be very proud of your work! ~smile~
ReplyDeleteRoseanne
I'm sure the quilting will look just fine.
ReplyDeleteI'm not worrying about it. When the quilt is out of the frame, it own't be noticeable and as I say many, many times, perfection is overrated! Thanks for stopping.
DeleteWow, the tulip block is stunning! Even if someone else picked the colors, you did a good job on the piecing!
