This tractor pattern is perfect if the baby is a boy.
The pattern is available from Counted Quilts. They have a large variety of quilt designs.
The fabrics are cut and ready to be sewn. The pieces are labeled so I can keep everything straight.
My goal is to not only have the quilt flimsy pieced but quilted also.
This will be quite a a challenge but I think I can do it.
I think the flowers look like they are floating on the quilt.
And a look at the back. Of course I used some of mom's stash, what little girl doesn't love lavender?
I used a larger Baptiste Fan on the sides. Why? I don't know, I just did. I doubt any baby will care about it.
She has finished at 36" by 41". I normally like to make crib quilts larger than this but it was time for her to be finished.
Not very much applique has happened here lately. I cut the tip of my left thumb and it is very sore. I need to keep a band-aid on it and it causes problems appliqueing. I spent my evenings quilting the crib quilt.

ReplyDeleteThis is just the second month I've linked up to OMG. It did help to keep me focused in October, hopefully that will happen in November too.
Deletedon't you hate it when cutting a finger interferes with quilting - congrats on new baby coming soon - cute baby quilts
ReplyDeleteOuch Gretchen! The quilt will be so cute. Maybe it will be a Santa baby! Take care of that thumb!
ReplyDeleteThumb is healed enough that I can applique now! I hope the baby comes before Christmas, the due date is the 8th. That would be a way over due baby, I doubt the doctor would let she/he go that long. Hope your treatment went ok. Blessings!
DeleteCute tractor, congratulations.
ReplyDeleteThat tractor is too cute! I will be checking out their other patterns. Good luck with your goal!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThe tractor is adorable and the flowers are so pretty. Both will make some little baby happy :) I really like the larger fans quilted on the edges of the flowers quilt. It gives the quilting a bit of a frame.
ReplyDeleteThank you for responding. I didn't really think about the larger fans being different. They were on the stencil and I just marked them on. Sometimes spontaneity works!
DeleteLove your baby quilt pattern! So precious! Love your Grandmother’s Flower Garden!! Yes, it does look like the flowers are floating and the quilting seems to point the eye towards the flowers. Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat will be a wonderful baby quilt. The hexies are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteCute tractor quilt!
ReplyDeleteYour Baptist fans look great! I love that quilting design. And the tractor quilt will be so much fun :)
ReplyDeleteI finished piecing the tractor quilt on Thursday. This was so much fun to make. I thought it would be complicated and take at least a week to piece, but it didn't! I want to get it marked for quilting today. Blessings!
