The Lord is Risen! Have a blessed Easter with whoever you are celebrating with!
Block 109 from the Stonefields quilt is called 'My Bebe'. The star was EPP'd then appliqued. It's another very pretty block, it looked challenging but it didn't take as long as I thought it would.
Here are all the blocks in section 9 on the display wall.
I do have to say the next to the last block, Rollercoaster, is my favorite block of the group.
There is just one more section to stitch for Stonefields, just 12 more blocks! I'm so close to finishing the blocks for the center of the quilt. Stonefields is designed by Susan Smith.
Something totally unrelated to hand sewing is this apron I made for a little girl from church. She requested it from me, she enjoys baking with her grandmother and needed an apron. How could I refuse? The little apron sewed very fast, 3 hours from start to finish. The most time consuming part was when I turned the right side out and needed to pin the edge to press it. That took longer than the stitching!
I will not be having a Wednesday post this week. The Jane Stickle retreat starts Wednesday, I'll have a wrap-up retreat post coming later.

This new block looks challenging indeed! I love the star inside the scalloped circle. Section 9 looks beautiful on the wall, you are soon to be finished!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your pretty project and linking up, have fun preparing the retreat!
Love seeing your Stonefields blocks each week and I’m looking forward to seeing the final layout. What a cute apron…I’m sure the little baker will be delighted. Happy Easter. Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteThe scallops on the Stonefields block looks very challenging to me. When I looked at all the blocks together in this section, the Rollercoaster block stood out as a favorite to me. I forgot that it was named Rollercoaster. The apron is adorable!!! I bet the little girl giggled with happiness when she got it. She will definitely wear it with pride and make many memories with her grandmother wearing it. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteLovely block, and yes the Rollercoaster block is a stunner! That is a lovely little apron, how sweet of you to make it for the young baker. Happy Easter! Enjoy your retreat.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are all lovely enhanced by your hand stitching skills. All varied shades of blue look beautiful. That apron! How sweet of the child to ask you for one and even sweeter that you tenderly made it for her. It is reminiscent of my mama's aprons. Enjoy your retreat! Happy Easter to you as well!
ReplyDeleteHow nice that the little girl asked you for a baking apron. She must have heard that you were a wonderful stitcher and could make anything at all!
ReplyDeleteLove you latest block. The apron and request. . .well, that is a treasure!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look gorgeous - that last one is lovely. Lucky young lady to have her own special apron. Happy a. xx
ReplyDeleteHe is risen indeed! This block is a beauty! And light at the end of the tunnel now with these blocks. Did being this close to having the blocks done give you a second wind??
ReplyDeleteJust 12 blocks -- the end is in sight. What a journey! Enjoy the retreat.
ReplyDeleteYour handstitched quilts are treasures! I'm in awe of your intricate blocks and tiny stitches.
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling apron and you are darling to make it! I especially like the decorative stitching you used. No doubt it will be a part of precious memories made. Did you use a particular pattern? I really need to make a few.
Just Wow! This is Beautiful!! Well done you!
ReplyDeleteHappy week!

Donna
That's such a complicated block, but you pieced it beautifully! The little apron is really cute. Enjoy your retreat. Wishing you lots of productivity!
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful block. This one does look complicated. I love the pops of yellow you are using with the blue and white/creams. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful block and lovely fabric for the apron. She'll probably not want to stop baking now! Elaine in UK
