Month 8, 2025 Designer Mystery Quilt

Block 8 of the Designer Mystery Quilt is completed.

It used the same white background that has been in all of the other blocks. I was able to use fabric from former blocks and didn't need to cut into the white fat quarter included in this month's fabric packet.

This block was a quick sew. I didn't think to pay attention to the stripe orientation of the fabric in the inside corners or the outside corners. Oh well, does it really matter?

  3. Now that is one adorable quilt block! Love the fabrics you are using . Well I wouldn't have noticed about the stripes at all. It is just adorable! Happy quilting, Gretchen. Hugs.

  4. That is a pretty quilt block. I didn't notice the directional fabric until you mentioned it. The colors are muted enough, I think, that it isn't obvious.

  5. I don't think that plaid matters at all. The fabric is so pretty, who notices? Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

  6. Great block! I think the stripe is better in different directions around the block --- gives it movement. If it didn't bother you while putting it together that meant it worked as it should!

  7. The fabrics are great in this block! I especially like the low volume pieces in the background

  8. The plaid colours are so subtle they aren't obviously going their different ways - and they are perfectly diagonal so I think they look good. I can't stand it when plaids, checks and stripes aren't lined up properly angle wise - that's a lot worse than having a selection of directions in my opinion. Elaine

  11. If I think about it, I will orient stripes the same way but I won’t re-do any because really, stripes can go anyway, lol.

  12. What a pretty block, and I love the way the stripes are looking. I read them as red and green prints, matching the other colors, their orientation is not noticeable. Thank you for sharing your work in progress and linking up!
