Pitcher of Ruched Flowers

The 23rd block of the Pastor's Attic Quilt is completed! This block is called Pitcher of Ruched Flowers but, as you can see, the flowers are not ruched. I plan to hand quilt this quilt and I didn't know if it would be difficult to quilt those layers of fabric. I took the easy way out and made flat flowers.

I like circles in the center of the flowers so much better than embroidered french knots.

The bottom of the vase looks wonky but she is going to stay that way. My blocks all have a rather rustic aspect to them.

I'll be starting on the next block this afternoon. She probably won't be completed by next Sunday, but I'll will show you the progress I've made.

Mama Spark's World is starting an Ocean Waves quilt-along. Ocean Waves has been on my list of quilts to make for many years. I may have to think about this project.

I like your non ruched flowers. Vase looks great to me. Symmetry is way over rated.

Oh, a SAL for an Ocean Waves quilt! I've been wanting to make one of these for a really long time. Maybe I can get motivated with Mama Sparks encouragement. Your block is lovely, I wouldn't change a thing.

Hi Gretchen,
I always smile when I see your name in my email. I am in awe of how much you get done. You are so productive and so organized. How do you do it? I think I speak for a lot of people when I say we would love to have you share your organizational skills and more about your quilting day!!!

Love your little block and the pitcher is cute. I used to place my old pots - that were beyond kitchen use - in the garden and plant flowers in them. This reminds me of that!

Very pretty block. That is going to be lovely, are there 24 total blocks or more?

That's an idea for a post. I guess I don't really think I get so terribly much done when I compare myself to other bloggers. I just keep on going with my projects and try to not jump start another one. It causes me stress when I have too many unfinished projects.

There are 25 blocks in this quilt, I'm in the home stretch with the applique, at least the center blocks!

There are 25 blocks, the center will be 5 blocks x 5 blocks.

The block is beautiful. I've been researching Baltimore Album quilts and starting to get excited about them. I'm happily following along!
